Well That's No Good
I think my laptop might be dead. It won't boot up, and definitely seems to be making a rattling noise around what's probably the hard drive. I keep turning it off and turning it back on in the hopes that something changes.

Well. No sooner do I write that, but the damn thing starts working. Clearly, this was a one time incident and will never happen again.
On the other hand, plugging it back in, I noticed that the power cord jack seems to be warped slightly. Perhaps it overheated?!?
