I Am Occasionally Bad At Math

You're probably wondering "What does Rowan think of digitally remastered albums, such as those Rolling Stones albums rereleased within the last few years?"

That's a good question. A few months ago, I would have said that they're too expensive, and I already have most of them. What's the point of a remaster, especially when it costs more than regular CDs.

Meanwhile, you might also be thinking "What does Rowan think about pop songs produced before the CD era, especially those produced before the late 60's?"

I would reply that those songs are often good pop songs, but the production makes them difficult to listen to. They're tinny, and there's too much space in the music, and so forth.

I never put 2 and 2 together and realized hey! those digital remasters probably update the production of these great songs to sound good to the modern ear. Old Satisfaction and Paint It, Black? Good. Remastered? Kick ass.

Now you don't have to wonder anymore.
