Games and Movies: Two Occasionally Great Tastes That Don't Go Great Together, Ever

From Gamespot's review of Seven Samurai 20XX:

"The narrative behind Kurosawa's original Seven Samurai is a simple but elegant story about a group of samurai who take on the task of defending a small, incredibly poor village from a group of marauding raiders. At its core, Seven Samurai 20XX is basically about the same thing, though the setting's been changed from Feudal Japan to a bleak futuristic landscape, and the bands of thieves have been replaced by endless hordes of genocidal robots."

Well, naturally. If I were making a video game of the Seven Samurai, that's what I would totally do!

Also, there's a Fight Club game in the works. Apparently it's being planned as a. . . wait for it . . . fighting game! Yes, all the fun of bare-knuckle boxing, and none of the ANY GODDAMN THING THE MOVIE WAS ABOUT. But other than that, it's a good idea, right?
